Release of Fifa 17 well received

Ian Chetty, sales assistant at Game 4U, Liberty Midlands Mall, said they had received approximately 150 pre-orders of Fifa 17 and had experienced long queues of customers coming into their store to purchase the game on Thursday morning. After two hours of opening shop, they had already sold over twenty copies of the game.
Chetty said with Fifa being their biggest selling game, they always expect revenue to sky rocket around this time of year when Fifa releases their latest edition of the game.
“Fifa is always a big seller, we experience great revenue around this time every year when the new edition is released,” Chetty explained. He said the reason for all the hype surrounding the game is because “it’s about soccer and everyone loves soccer.”
Currently priced at R1000, Fifa 17 comes with many added benefits including excellent game play and the problems from previous editions have also been fixed. “They have put a lot of effort into this edition. I’m not much of a Fifa fan, but even I am enjoying Fifa 17,” Chetty said.
One of the new additions to the game is the Journo feature that allows the player to live the life of a soccer player on the team, giving insight into the player’s lifestyle and schedule.
Chetty explained another beauty about the game is that it is “ageless”. Kids as young five years of age, to adults in their forties can all enjoy playing the game of virtual soccer.
In celebration of Fifa 17’s release, Game 4U will be hosting a Fifa gaming tournament at their store on October 14th. The entry fee is R150 and the tournament is open to anyone over 13 years old. Anyone interested in taking part can visit the store for more information.
Game at Liberty Midlands Mall, who is selling Fifa 17 at the competitive price of R899 also experienced an influx of customers on Thursday coming to purchase Fifa 17.
“It’s been insane, people just keep on coming” said store controller and gaming consultant Ashveer Nundlall. He agreed that Fifa 17’s game play was “absolutely superb.”
“They have even introduced a women’s team in this edition. I definitely give it ten out of ten,” Nundlall said.
