Meet Hilton’s very own Mr and Mrs Santa Clause

Local Hilton residents Brad and Louise Lancaster, have taken upon themselves, the duty of lighting up children’s faces and keeping parents’ Christmas fable alive by dressing up as Father and Mother Christmas and delivering gifts to children in the area, in exchange for tins of pet food that get donated to the SPCA.
The couple, who have been doing this on Christmas Eve for the past two years said they initially did it as a favour for their friend’s children a few years back, and had so much fun they decided to see if they could serve the greater Hilton community.
The idea took off among locals with around 15 families signing onto the Father Christmas drive.  The plan works as follows: Parents drop off their gifts beforehand at the Hilton Police station where Louise works and then on the Christmas eve, the couple, dressed as Father and Mother Christmas, drive around to the allocated houses and deliver the gifts to all the ‘good children’, who in exchange hand over an item of pet food that goes to the SPCA, ensuring that the animals also get a taste of Christmas cheer.
“We get more fun out of it than the children, definitely,” laughed Brad, who along with his wife will be repeating their performance again this Christmas Eve.  Any parents, who are interested in taking up the opportunity to keep the Santa Clause legend alive, are welcome to drop their child’s gift and their address with Louise at the Hilton Police Station.
