Thomas Erskine, from Michaelhouse, was awarded the President’s Award Gold Medal by HRH Prince Edward at an award ceremony held in Johannesburg recently. Thomas was one of a few KZN recipients. His is the first Gold Medal awarded to a Michaelhouse boy.

Scottsville Primary School Grade 1 learners hosted a Letterland fashion parade recently. Each child dressed up as their favourite Letterland character, and was cheered on while “modelling” to a song about their letter.
St Johns Grade R’s are encouraged to bring grey water to school, and they are seen hard at work watering the Mondo Grass with the water, they bring every day to school, whilst in the process learning how precious water is.

Grandparents’ Day was recently held at Ridge Junior Primary. The Grade 3 choir entertained the audience before each Grade 1 class performed a song or poem for their grandparents. Afterwards the grandparents visited the classrooms to see their grandchildren’s school work.

Grace College’s annual “Fun Night Relay” was a memorable event again this year. Fire pits, warm beverages and food, as well as the chatter of eager runners, all contributed to the festive atmosphere of this event. A number of pupils also had craft and food stalls where visitors could browse and support budding entrepreneurs.
Hilton College and St Anne’s are holding a combined Matric Art Exhibition at Hilton College, which will run until Saturday 19th, in the Art Department. The quality of the work is exceptional and anybody interested in budding artists or art in general is encouraged to view the display.
