Emerging KZN talent honoured by SA U19 selection

KZN Inland & Hilton College fast bowler, Eathan Bosch is humbled to be a part of the SA U19 squad currently on tour in Sri Lanka

As the first three-day Youth Test between the two nations kicked off on Thursday, the pair opened their international accounts eager to make the most of the sub-continental tour.

“It is truly a honour to be involved with the SA U19 team as it has given me the opportunity to work alongside coaches that aim to get the best out of me in order for me to help the team out as best I can during this tour,” says Bosch.

“Pitch conditions here aren’t far off from those in areas in Durban however they obviously do turn more while it is a far warmer climate here than back home and very humid which, naturally, causes excessive sweating, something seam bowlers need to be careful of because we can often ruin the ball during a game,” adds Bosch.

“As a country, I have found Sri Lanka very different but also very interesting and I am looking forward to seeing different parts of the country as our tour goes on,” says Bosch.

The three-match Youth Test Series takes the SA U19 side to Colombo, Kurunegela and Kandy before the squad returns to the former for three Youth ODIs in mid-July. Both Bossr and Bosch are set to be involved in both formats.
