Umhlanga interchange intact

SANRAL eastern region general manager Logashri Sewnarain has dismissed reports and social media messages that the newly constructed Umhlanga N2 interchange has collapsed as a result of the heavy storms and flooding in Durban.

It can however, be confirmed that a cutting between the new bridge, the M41 and Flanders Drive, near the new Cornubia mall has collapsed due to a mudslide caused by soil erosion in the area.

SANRAL confirms that the new interchange is intact and solid and nearing completion.
