Residents urged to save water for 26-hour shutdown

Umngeni Water said they will be shutting down the purification plant at Midmar Water Treatment Works for planned maintenance work.

“Umngeni has increased production from Saturday to allow Msunduzi Municipality to fill up our reservoirs to be able to supply our customers as long we can,” said Umgeni Water.

“However, we ask that the public to conserve water during this period as our reserves in the reservoirs will be depleted within the 26 hours,” it added.

Municipality spokesperson, Thobeka Mafumbatha, has confirmed the planned 26-hour water shutdown by Umngeni water.

The following areas will be affected during the course of the 26 hours:

Prestbury

Northdale

Raisethorpe

Woodlands

Masons

Bisley

Ashdown

Caluza

Willowfontain

Unit H

Sinathing

Azalea

Unit 18

Foxhill

Ashburton
