Talk on stem-cell surgery

World renowned neuroscientist and surgeon, Dr Alok Sharma, will deliver a talk in Pietermaritzburg on recent advances in the treatment of autism, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, brain stroke, head injury, and muscular dystrophy through stem cell therapy.
Dr Sharma, who has over 25 years of experience in the field of neurosurgery and is a pioneer in the field of stem-cell therapy for neurological disorders, has several awards recognising the work he has done. He has authored 13 books and over 100 scientific journals published in various medical journals.
He is the founder of the NeuroGen Brain and Spine Institute, India’s first dedicated center for stem-cell therapy and neuro rehabilitation. The institute focuses on treating patients with incurable neurological conditions. This innovative therapy gives a new lease of life to patients with autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation, muscular dystrophy, spinal cord injury, head injury, brain stroke and other incurable neurological disorders.
The free talk takes place on September 15 at 2pm and on September 16 at 10am. It will take place at the Cordwalles Preparatory School, Besant Theatre, 101 Howick Road, Wembley.
