The annual Community Chest Golf Day was a huge success, with a large field participating raising much needed funds for PMB Community Chest.
Love to Live would like to thank Dezry Kay and her team for the honour and opportunity of hosting the launch of her EP Gravel to Tar on October 27 at the Eddels Sports Club in Pietermaritzburg. The event was a success and it is envisaged that this will launch Dezry Kay to well-deserved stardom. Dezry Kay’s desire and passion to empower the youth of Pietermaritzburg and make South Africa a better place is indeed commendable.

Thomas Erskine, from Michaelhouse, was awarded the President’s Award Gold Medal by HRH Prince Edward at an award ceremony held in Johannesburg recently. Thomas was one of a few KZN recipients. His is the first Gold Medal awarded to a Michaelhouse boy.
A group of Grade 8 Natural Science learners from Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School used respiring yeast to inflate balloons.
Scottsville Primary School Grade 1 learners hosted a Letterland fashion parade recently. Each child dressed up as their favourite Letterland character, and was cheered on while “modelling” to a song about their letter.
St Johns Grade R’s are encouraged to bring grey water to school, and they are seen hard at work watering the Mondo Grass with the water, they bring every day to school, whilst in the process learning how precious water is.
Grade 2 pupils enjoying the Athlone cake sale, which is held once a term by the Grade 7 pupils. There are always stunning treats on sale, and allows the pupils to do their “own shopping”.
Grandparents’ Day was recently held at Ridge Junior Primary. The Grade 3 choir entertained the audience before each Grade 1 class performed a song or poem for their grandparents. Afterwards the grandparents visited the classrooms to see their grandchildren’s school work.
